Producer #ChitraVakilSharma enjoys eating, and when it comes to food, she believes that “healthy” is a complicated and subjective word. “I believe that we should eat what we feel like as we all have only one life. To me, healthy eating means consuming eggs for breakfast, followed by parantha and sabzi for lunch then maybe a fruit. Dinner can be anything that my daughter demands. Sometimes it’s pizza or noodles or pasta,” said the producer, who has backed web projects like “Tandoor” and “Raktanchal”. She thinks that a sugar-free diet is just a fad. “It’s just overhyped. Enjoy everything in limited quantity, but healthy is a complicated, subjective and sometimes problematic word,” said Sharma.

She admits to sharing a healthy relationship with food. “I am a foodie and when I say healthy, it does not mean that I eat only a healthy diet. It means that I eat everything,” she said. In fact, she eats what she craves. “It can be a packet of chips also. People who have been on restrictive diets with long lists of rules have often lost their natural hunger because they rely on calorie counts, schedules, meal plans and devices to tell them when and how much to eat,” she pointed out. Apart from eating, she is into cooking too. “I am a decent cook. I learnt cooking pretty late. I was about 27 years old. One fine day I decided to help my mom in cooking and then I started with basic cooking for survival,” said Sharma.

She swears by “ghar ka khana”. “I believe in the ‘ghar ka khana’ concept. I carry my ‘dabbas’ as well when I go to work. At the same time, the home delivery concept is extremely good concept for people who live in a metro city like Mumbai,” she said.

As for eating out, she thinks it’s is a subjective concept. “After all, we were born as normal eaters, and I eat and relish food outside as well as home-cooked food.”
