The #InternationalWomen’sDay celebrations were on on March 8. #DangalTV #Divas also took time out to extend wishes to all the female clan. While the day celebrates how far we’ve come with regards to women’s rights and makes us dwell on long road ahead, even the ladies of Dangal TV expressed their opinions on #womenempowerment and celebration of womanhood!

Shruti Anand aka Ruchita from Mann Sundar says, “A woman plays various roles in her live, a daughter, wife, mother and so on, but we should never forget she’s a woman first and should be respected and treated with equality. A power of a woman comes inside out. It doesn’t matter how demure a lady may appear, every woman is fierce in her own way and should be respected for that! I am so glad to be associated with Mann Sundar, a show that celebrates women for the way they are!”

Even Mahua i.e Chahat Pandey, the lead of Nath Zevar Ya Zanjeer echoes similar thoughts and adds, “I think it’s about time that all discrimination towards women ends. With our show Nath, we too are breaking age-old barriers, leading way to path breaking changes in women’s rights. While we have achieved lots in women empowerment there’s lots still to be done. We need changes in laws and stricter implementation of laws too to deal with rapes, dowry deaths, genocide, harassment and domestic violence. Hopefully someday we will overcome and eradicate all the biases towards women too!”

Vaibhavi Hankare who plays Mishri in Sindoor Ki Keemat added, “Although I like the women’s day celebration but I think there shouldn’t just be one day towards women in fact women should be respected, celebrated and treated with love and care all year long! We women are born fighters and have fought a lot of battles as a community to come this far and I think we should be celebrated for that!”

Rang Jaun Tere Rang Mein’s Dhani Choubey i.e Megha Ray says, “I won’t go too far and say that practice begins at home! I would urge all women to support each other and grow as a community. Jealousy, judgement and hypocrisy can’t be our strong suit when we are all trying to fight battles of crime against women, pay parity, women rights and so on.”
