Filmmaker Chirag M. Trivedi Applauds Akshay Dhawan’s Powerful ‘Sheher Hain Ye Mumbai’ Rap for HEAT CITY: Antarpath Chapter 1!
Versatile actor, writer, producer, and first-time director #ChiragMTrivedi is generating significant buzz ahead of his directorial debut, HEAT CITY: Antarpath Chapter 1, which is scheduled for a theatrical launch later this year before moving to OTT. The film’s newly dropped track, “Sheher Hain Ye Mumbai,” has quickly struck a chord with listeners, drawing a massive and enthusiastic response from the youth.
Speaking about the response to the song, Chirag says, “It’s getting a really good response, especially from the younger crowd. That is very encouraging because the song captures the true energy and spirit of Mumbai. It also depicts the gritty story of a fearless businessman taking on the city’s ruthless mafia.”
The concept of “Sheher Hain Ye Mumbai” was conceived by Chirag himself. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Mumbai, the song reflects the city’s relentless energy, resilience, and unique lifestyle. Sharing his love for the city, he says, “I love the way my city, Mumbai, keeps a perfect balance between hustle and chilling out. That’s what makes Mumbai so special—it never stops moving, yet it always finds time to celebrate life.”
Apart from directing, Chirag has also written the film and plays the lead role of Veer Madhvani, a legal luxury trader who firmly refuses to let smugglers misuse his shipments for illegal activities. However, one life-altering incident forces him to take on the mafia in their own language, leading to a gripping chain of events filled with action, crime, and suspense.
“I wanted to create something fresh and impactful in the crime drama genre. Veer Madhvani is a character with strong values, but circumstances compel him to fight back, and that’s where the story becomes intense and unpredictable,” says Chirag.
The film features an ensemble cast including Chirag M. Trivedi, Jalak Motiwala, Priyank Pandav, Peeyush Patil, Muni Jha, Taj Sethi, Saachi Surve, Pratham Sharma, Gaurav Shivaji, Kishore Soni, and Vihaan Choudhary.
Before stepping into direction, Chirag earned recognition for his powerful performances on OTT platforms. He played the principal antagonist, Asif, a serial killer opposite Tanuj Virwani in Disney+ Hotstar’s The Tattoo Murders (originally titled Kamathipura) in 2021. He was also widely appreciated for portraying Rahul Dravid in the acclaimed Disney+ Hotstar film Kaun Pravin Tambe?, produced by Friday Filmworks.
As a producer, Chirag has backed two short films for Shemaroo Shorties—Town in Dark and RUSA, a post-apocalyptic sci-fi mystery inspired by the mythology of Samudra Manthan.
With his diverse experience as an actor, producer, writer, and now director, Chirag M. Trivedi aims to deliver a compelling cinematic experience with HEAT CITY: Antarpath Chapter 1, blending crime, action, and emotion against the pulsating backdrop of Mumbai and Kenya.
