“It’ll be the best casting” reveals Kunal Khemu About The Idea Of Casting Preity Zinta He Conceived While Writing, As An Undercover Agent In Vibe!
Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the much-awaited trailer of its upcoming high-stakes action comedy VIBE, headlined by Kunal Kemmu. Following the massive buzz around the teaser, the makers have now raised the stakes with an explosive and power-packed trailer that promises a thrilling ride filled with chaos, action, humour, and unexpected twists. While the film also features Preity Zinta, Kunal Kemmu shared the idea of casting her in undercover agent’s role.
Kunal Kemmu revealed how a scene from the film, featuring Preity Zinta revealing her real identity as an undercover agent, sparked an idea in his mind to cast the actress. While sharing this interesting process, Kunal said, “So, when I came to this character, I was genuinely thinking about who it would be, what it would be. And in my mind, I’m also a big Preeti Zinta fan. So, what happens is, when that woman comes in, she’s Preeti Zinta. And people say, Preeti Zinta, she’s an undercover agent. And Preeti Zinta says, “what did you think? I got married and went to America, this is my life. I’m actually a government agent”. So, this thought came to my mind, but of course, I didn’t carry on with that thought. But when I finished writing this film, and then it came to casting this, I had never seen her acting before. No one would have expected this. So, it’ll be the best casting. Now, all I need to do is get her to say yes. So, that’s how the journey started. But I’m very happy that she agreed to do this film. And I think she looks lovely as Marimatch.”
Written and directed by Kunal Kemmu, VIBE is produced by Kunal Kemmu and Chirag Nihalani under the banner of Drongo Films in association with Amazon MGM Studios. It stars Kunal Kemmu alongside Preity G Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava, and debutant Vanshika Dhir in lead roles. VIBE, an Amazon MGM Studios film, hits theaters on September 18.
