Netflix’s Operation Safed Sagar Cast Joins Indian Air Force Leadership for an Independence Day Special on The Great Indian Kapil Show!
To mark Independence Day, the cast of Operation Safed Sagar was joined by Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, and Air Chief Marshal (Retd.) Birender Singh Dhanoa for a special episode uniting reel and real-life heroes in a tribute to India’s air warriors.
Mumbai, 15th August 2026 : Celebrating the spirit of Independence Day, the cast of Netflix’s Operation Safed Sagar brought together patriotism, laughter and unforgettable behind-the-scenes stories on a special episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show.
Making the occasion even more memorable were Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, and Air Chief Marshal (Retd.) Birender Singh Dhanoa, former Chief of the Air Staff, creating a rare and heartwarming moment where the real heroes and the actors who portrayed them came together to celebrate the spirit of India.
Sharing the couch with Kapil Sharma were Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill, Abhay Verma, Dia Mirza, Prajakta Koli, Mihir Ahuja, Taaruk Raina, Arnav Bhasin and Amrita Bagchi, who reflected on their journey of bringing Operation Safed Sagar to life while also sharing hilarious anecdotes from the making of the series.
When Kapil Sharma playfully asked Siddharth, who portrayed Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja, what gave him the courage to embrace danger after marrying Aditi Rao Hydari, the actor responded with his trademark wit, “Sir aap hi nehin, poora desh meri biwi ki khoobsoorti se waaqif hai. Aditi Rao Hyadri ji meri biwi hai, main unka pati hoon. Toh zaahir si baat hai itni khoobsoorat biwi jab mil jaaye toh honsla aur baahaduri dono aani hi chahiye aur aa bhi gayi!”
The audience erupted in a round of applause, with Kapil and the cast joining in on the light-hearted banter.
The fun continued when Kapil Sharma asked Prajakta Koli, who plays Madhavi Reddy in the series, whether she shot reels while shooting for Operation Safed Sagar. Much to everyone’s surprise, Prajakta revealed that filming at operational Indian Air Force bases came with a unique digital detox.
She shared, “Hum jab Air Force base pe shoot karte they toh enter karte waqt humein na apna phone jama kar dena padta tha. Toh actually pehli baar hum saare ek doosre se baatein karte they, books padte they, saath baithke khana khaate they!”
Curious, Kapil then asked whether she preferred that era, when phones were scarce and landlines were the only means of communication, or today’s world of smartphones. Without missing a beat, Prajakta candidly replied, “Sir, mere liye toh ye wala achha hai!”
The hilarious exchange had the entire auditorium in splits, offering viewers a glimpse into the challenges and comic moments that unfolded behind the scenes while filming one of Netflix India’s most ambitious productions.
From candid confessions, some beat-boxing by Mihir and behind-the-scenes stories to heartfelt tributes to the Indian Air Force, the special episode, filmed at the Indian Air Force Auditorium in New Delhi, promises audiences an entertaining mix of humour, emotion and celebration, as the cast of Operation Safed Sagar comes together with the real heroes who inspired the story.
