Content based cinema is #Marathi film’s identity. Quite a few Marathi films make rounds of national and international film festival circuits and quite a few from them get awarded too. One such movie ‘#Palyad’ did win accolades at film festivals internationally and was also taken notice of by none other than #Forbes. Teaser of the film was released recently.

Pawan Sadamwar, Suraj Sadamwar, Mangesh Dupare, Pranoti Panchal and Shailesh Bhimrao Dupare, visionary professionals and producers from Chandrapur have produced ‘Palayad’ under the banner of Elevate Films and Elevate Life and Lavanya Priya Arts. Shailesh Dupare has directed the film which is distributed through K Sera Sera Distribution.

The teaser hints that the film will tell the story of a small boy named Shambhu and the dreams that float in his mother’s eyes. Even though the situation is dire, Shambhu’s mother wants her son to study and become a doctor and treat people physically as well as mentally. After watching the teaser, it is felt that the story of what lies beyond the dreams of the mother will be seen in this film. ‘Unch Unch Udu Aaj, Abhalat Phiru…’ is a children’s song that gives wings to the dreams that permeates the entire teaser. The cherished dreams of childhood have been expressed through this song.

The story of this film revolves around a family in a graveyard society. Even in today’s advanced era, ‘Palyad’ will do the job of showing the stark reality hidden in the dark corners of the society. Some unattended issues are presented in a realistic style. This film has managed to make its mark in nearly 14 film festivals.

It stars Shashank Shende, Devika Daftardar, child actor Ruchit Ninave from Ballarashah, Devendra Dodke, Veera Sathitdar, Sachin Giri, Sayali Dethe, Bharat Rangari, Babita Uike, Ravi Dhakate, Gajesh Kamble etc. The story of the film has been written by Sudarshan Khadangale, while Sudarshan Khadangale and Shailesh Bhimrao Dupare have penned the screenplay and dialogues. The costumes are done by Vikas Chahare. The entire shooting of this film has been completed in 25 days in Chandrapur district.

‘Palyad’ will release all over Maharashtra on November 4.
