#SidharthMalhotra headlined #IndianPoliceForce, which was an #OTT directorial debut of #RohitShetty, received good response. Sidharth played a short tempered patriotic cop who sometimes goes against the laid down rules. In a recently released film, #Yodha too, he plays a similar character. In fact his patriotic stint in continuing with Shershah, Mission Majnu, Indian Police Force and now Yodha. Sidharth suits the role because of he possesses physicality required for these kind of roles. Yodha offers adrenaline fueled action scenes taking place in mid air and they are the highlight of the film.

Arun Katyal (Sidharth Malhotra) is member of Yodha squad, a special task force of the military, which was formulated by his late father (Ronit Bose Roy). Due to insubordination he is grounded and suspended. Under mysterious circumstances he boards a flight to London, which gets hijacked. It is presumed that the flight has been hijacked by Arun to take revenge and all hell breaks loose as the plane enters Pakistan’s airspace. Whether Arun is a ‘deshdrohi’ or a ‘deshbhakt’ is the question raised. Whatever happens around it forms the crux of the story.

Sagar Ambre has written the story as well as co-directed it with Pushkar Ojha. The screenplay has required twists and turns and the intermittent action takes the film forward. The directors have offered a sleek product which is entertaining. The dialogues are good and some of them has ‘Karan Johar Touch’. Alongside patriotic dialogues, there are mild hilarious ones too. (Main Is Picture Ka Hero Hu). Action choreography is excellent and could be the USP of the film. The production values are high and the cinematography is excellent. The hand held camera shooting of action scenes are impactful. Sidharth Malhotra has delivered a stylish performance and doesn’t disappoint. He ably carries the film on his shoulders. Raashii Khanna does well as his wife and a high level government official. Disha Patani looks fabulous as an air hostess and the twist her character takes is interesting. Tanuj Virwani, Ronit Roy, Kritika Bharadwaj as a young pilot and others deliver responsible performances.

Yodha is an adrenaline fueled airplane hijack drama which has scintillating action and right dose of entertainment.
