Rohit Saraf Reveals Nikkhil Advani Envisioned a ‘Brad Pitt from Fight Club’ Physique for Him in The Revolutionaries!

Rohit Saraf is preparing to stun audiences as he steps into the shoes of real-life freedom fighter Sachindra Nath Sanyal in The Revolutionaries. Early glimpses and trailer snippets from the show have already built tremendous curiosity, capturing viewers’ attention as the actor dives headfirst into the world of a young revolutionary. To match the intensity of the character and bring Nikkhil Advani’s vision to life, Saraf underwent a rigorous physical transformation.

Speaking about his preparation for the role, he reveals that much of the work went into an intense physical transformation, including building the physique that director Nikkhil Advani envisioned and training in traditional combat forms. “Primarily, my preparation was physical. It took me almost 15 months to transform my body, while the training in different art forms for the series lasted about three months. When I met Nikkhil sir for the first time, he told me he wanted me to have a physique like Brad Pitt in Fight Club. And I remember thinking, I was active, I was fit, but I was definitely not Brad Pitt from Fight Club. So a huge part of the preparation was getting my body to where he envisioned it for the character. Beyond that, he also wanted me to learn Mallakhamb, Kushti and other forms of physical training. The sessions were intense and, in all honesty, pretty gruelling. I would constantly send Nikkhil sir videos of what we were doing, and I think what I enjoyed most was seeing, bit by bit, how all of that training was changing the way I looked and moved.”

Inspired by true events and set against the backdrop of India’s freedom struggle, the period drama is directed and created for a series by acclaimed filmmaker Nikkhil Advani, and produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under the banner of Emmay Entertainment. Based on Sanjeev Sanyal’s bestseller Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom, The Revolutionaries features an ensemble cast, with Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta, and Gurfateh Pirzada in lead roles, along with Jason Shah, Paoli Dam, and Tota Roy Chowdhury in key roles. The series premieres September 11, only on Prime Video.
