‘He Did Not Speak in His Own Voice’: Aaron Sorkin on Jeremy Strong’s Method Transformation in ‘The Social Reckoning’!

Jeremy Strong is all set to play the role of Facebook’s co-founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in the upcoming film, The Social Reckoning. Written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, the film serves as a follow-up to 2010’s The Social Network. Early trailers have already offered a glimpse at Strong’s performance, highlighting how deeply the actor has captured the nuances and mannerisms of Zuckerberg. In a recent interview, Sorkin revealed that Strong stayed entirely in character on set, even when cameras stopped rolling.

“Jeremy does a lot of his own work. He does a tremendous amount of work before he shows up on your set. He did not speak in his own voice on the set or walk the way Jeremy walks,” Sorkin told The New York Times.

“I told all the other actors in his scenes: ‘Guys, he’s not going to be hanging out with you at craft service. He’s not going to be yucking it up with you between takes. He’s probably not going to speak to you at all. He is going to treat you the way he imagines Mark treats the people around him.’ And that’s what happened. You cannot argue with the results,” he added.

Based on the real-world events surrounding The Wall Street Journal’s 2021 investigation ‘The Facebook Files’, the film dramatizes how former Facebook engineer Frances Haugen (Mikey Madison) teamed up with reporter Jeff Horwitz (Jeremy Allen White) to expose internal documents regarding the platform’s impact on society.

Sony Pictures Entertainment India will release The Social Reckoning exclusively in theatres on 9th October 2026.
