Anwesshaa, who is just 23 years old had started formal training in Hindustani classical (vocal) at the age of 4 under Guru Shri Jayant Sarkar, senior most disciple of Pundit Ajoy Chakraborty (Patiala Gharana), has till date sung around 350 songs in 320 films in different languages. She has also participated in major TV shows, including Tarana (Finalist) – Etv Bangla (2002)Young Talent Contest (Winner) 2004, All Bengal Inter School Competition (Winner) 2006, Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Juniors (Finalist) 2007, Amul Star Voice of India – Chote Ustaad (Finalist) 2008 (Star Plus), Music Ka Maha Muqabla (Finalist – In Shaan’s team) 2010 (Star Plus),Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar (2012 – Star Plus). Anweessha has sung for films like ‘Golmaal Returns’, ‘I’m 24’ , ‘Dangerous Ishq’ , ‘Luv U Soniyo’ , ‘Ranjhanaa’ ,‘Rowdy Rathore’ ‘Kaanchi’, ‘Revolver Rani’,‘Guru Dakshina’ ‘The Expose’ and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and ‘Do Lafzon Ki kahani’ . Among her forthcoming films are ‘Just Tigdam’ for Ismail Darbar, ‘Suparinama’ for Kaushal Mahavir, an Untitled film for Avishek, ‘Nia’ for Shankar-Ehsan-Loy (a duet with Arijit Singh) and ‘The Final Encounter” (a duet with Shaan). Anwesshaa has also sung for films in Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Nepali, Bhojpuri, Punjabi and Rajasthani.
