Apart from ten percent of mainstream movies, there are plenty of movies which are entertaining and noticeable. One of them is #KhalliBalli which is directed by #ManojSharma, whose earlier outing #DehatiDisco starring ace choreographer #GaneshAcharya was a hit, has fun elements and the film entertains with some ‘ghostly’ scenes. The plus here is a cameo by Dharmendra who elevates the latter half tremendously. Also ‘Roja’ fame Madhoo who is making a comeback with this movie regales audiences with her portrayal and good looks.

Sanjana (Kainaat Arora) who is a model who wants a break in bollywood. She befriends the owner of an Ad agency Rohit (Rajniesh Duggal) who in turns tries to push her case to the well known directors for a break. While on a vacation in Lucknow Sanjana experiences some supernatural activities around her which baffles Rohit. When things go out of hand they seek the help from Dr Anushka (Madhoo) to ward off the nocturnal unwanted incidents. Gopal (Rajpal Yadav), the caretaker of the bungalow they stay at during a vacation, tries to help but in vain. Initially Inspector Gujjar Singh (Vijay Raaz) suspects something fishy in the complaint lodged by Rohit and Sanjana but realises his mistake after the arrival of Dr Anushka whom he starts fancying. As the invisible entity’s activities keep on growing all of them seek help of supernatural expert Gurpal (Dharmendra) who with his experience wards off the unpleasant influence.

Director Manoj Sharma, who also has penned the story and screenplay, has kept the proceedings in a humorous way. The story maintains the suspense behind the invisible entity until the end which is a plus. Though the horror portion is unimpressive the humour keeps the audience interested in the film. The VFX should have been more professional because the gimmicks used in the film are outdated. The dialogues are impressive in-between and the physical comedy too creates laughs. Music is passable though the background score is impressive. Kainaat Arora, Rajniesh Duggal, Rajpal Yadav are okay while Vijay Raaz and Madhoo look impressive. Dharmendra steals the show in his limited screen time which helps the movie in elevating the humour quotient.

Khalli Balli tries to spook you and entertains with it’s earthy humour.
