In India cricket is considered a religion and it’s followed by millions passionately. Being the most popular sport of the country, obviously, there are cricketing stars which people idolise with fervour. And world’s best cricketer of his times #SachinTendulkar is worshipped by the budding players amongst crores of others. Sachin is considered a God by a lot of cricketers and almost every cricket playing person wants to be like him. His personality inspires many in the entertainment industry too. The film #Sachin:TheUltimateWinner, too uses the positivity he spread through the years. The film uses the similar aspect wherein the protagonist is a student who wants to be a cricketer like #SachinTendulkar.

Sachin is a student who represents his school in cricket and most of the times wins tournaments single handedly. When a person gets popular, there obviously are jealous people. Some of the students from a rival school play dirty and push Sachin from a hillock. He gets severely injured and is hospitalised. There are chances of he getting paralysed but his near and dear one’s prayers save him. He with the help of his teacher cum coach (Dr Ved Thapar) walks the path to recovery but whether he can play cricket like old times forms the crux of the story.

There isn’t much novelty in the story as similar inspiring sports stories have been told earlier. The sceenplay lacks depth but the dialogues are slightly better. Some songs are good including “Sachin…Sachin…” song. Production values could have been better. Cinematography is passable and so is editing. Director Dweep Raj Kochhar has done a decent job and has played one of the important characters in the film. He has thrown a message like never give up in life despite any form of adversity. Sachin has played the role convincingly. Dr. Ved Thapar as Sachin’s Coach, Shivani Sharma as Sachin’s Mother, Dhruv Raj as Opponent’s Coach, Dweep Raj Kochhar as Sachin’s Milk Man Nihaal Singh, Muskan Panwar as Sachin’s Sister, Naved Sharma as Opponent Team Captain have done a decent job.

Sachin: The Ultimate Winner could be enjoyed by school going children.
